Welcome to Star City Montessori Preschool!  We offer bilingual (English/Spanish) and traditional Montessori education in a child-centered, nurturing environment in our home-based preschool.  Spanish is integrated throughout the day in songs, visuals, stories, games, body movements, facial expressions, and as well as in our daily activities. 

 

Our primary focus is to teach children the foundational skills they will carry on and build upon throughout their lives through a personalized curriculum that advances with the child at their unique pace.  The Montessori method allows a child to learn in a hands-on setting.  The children can choose any activity in the prepared environment and work independently or collaboratively with peers.  Our Montessori curriculum encourages creativity and curiosity and leads children to ask questions, explore, investigate, and think for themselves as they acquire skills.  With the guidance of an Early Childhood Credentialed Montessori teacher, children may work individually and in small or large groups in Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Math, Geography, Zoology, and Botany.  The Montessori Method aims to open children's minds toward academic development and help them reach their highest potential as individuals.  And they also develop compassion, good manners, and courteous behavior through our Kimochis curriculum.
